New Moon: Today

After about a year of hype, it's almost here! "New Moon" opens in less than 3 hours. Do I have a ticket? No, but there are a few good reasons for that. The first is the fact that it's a week night and even though I'd love to stay up and watch a movie about vampires, i do have to pay the bills. The second is the simple fact that the tickets are sold out. The third is to hide my shame. Yes, I would feel slightly strange as a 28-year-old waiting in line with teenie boppers holding up signs of " Team Jacob" or "Team Edward." (Team Edward by the way)

A few short years ago I made fun of anyone my age that liked these books. It took my cousin dragging me to see the movie before I gave the books a chance. (And I work in a bookstore)  Then it happened. The phenomena I call the Twilight drug took over. All of a sudden, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a series like the "Twilight." It's a love story with a twist. But it was directed towards younger readers and somehow I got trapped. I devoured all of the books. (Even the last one which, let's face it, was terrible but I had to know what happened to Bella and Edward) I've also read "Midnight Sun" online in hopes that someday that story will come to life. It's hopeless. I even became slightly depressed when the story closed. What do I have to look forward to now?

So now I sit waiting a few more days before I can too see "New Moon." I'm almost ready to tell the world that it's okay that I'm 28 and a Twilight fan. Almost.
